Reclaiming The Public Domain

If you want to read a really good real life example of using something from the public domain and the consequences of doing so (hint, there are none), then read Paul Ford’s recent FTrain.com post. Actually, his most recent Software Story is very good too. Actually, damn… there’s a lot of good stuff in there. I think he’s going in my blogroll.

Okay, now back to the public domain stuff. Lessig pointed out on his blog today that so far only 13,000 have signed the Public Domain Enhancement Act (a.k.a - Eldred Act) Petition. He also noted that you need to multiply that by 1,000 in order to have a movement.

If the six people that read this site go and sign the petition, we will be that much closer to “movement” status. I won’t beg, but I will say “please”.
