On the Way Out the Door - Be Back Soon

I’ve come to a decision. I need to focus. I know I’ve said it many times before, but I’m serious this time.

You might be able to guess why I’m saying this. Anyone? Yep, I bombed my first Calculus test today. And because of that I’m going to take a break from the internet for a few months.

It will be hard to do, but I’m putting my foot down. I’m going to finish this post and then hide all my shortcuts to Firefox. I might even change their references to open Mathematica or Power Calculator or something like that.

Obviously for me it’s not that writing a weblog entry every three weeks or so takes much time, it doesn’t, but keeping up with every single word that is uttered on over 120+ rss subscriptions and following the links that they point to, and maybe one more hop down a serendipitous trail of getting nothing done fast. It has got to stop.

I saw something yesterday that I thought was a possible solution to my productivity problem. Merlin Mann’s 43 Folders has been making the rounds. Ya gotta love a geek that wants to share and talk about life productivity hacks. I guess you could say I’m about to pull a big one.

Actually, I’m looking forward to that day in December when I load up bloglines for the first time in months and I have 14,392 unread items. Click. “Mark All Read?”. Click. Ok.

So I’ll still check e-mail and try to reply. Mom, I’ll call more often. Everybody else (all 10? of you), in the words of a semi-famous governor, “I’ll be back”.

Hey Aaron -- good luck. If you need any Calculus help, give me a shout on IM. I've missed your frequent posts.
