The Amazing Spoken Word (Tour)

Just got back from seeing Henry Rollins - Spoken Word Tour at Bogarts. It was pretty close to what I expected it to be. A sometimes funny, sometimes serious, always thought provoking evening of entertainment by a 42 year old, graying, intense, ex-punk rocker.

I had never seen the Word Tour before. I don’t know the music from Black Flag or Rollins Band. The only thing that got me to the show was doing some searching online and seeing enough positive feedback/comments that I thought it would be enjoyable and interesting. I hadn’t been to an event or concert in quite a while, so I shelled out the $30 bucks for two tickets.

I took my brother to see it with me, which was a smart move, cause I’m not so sure Jenny would have liked it as much. My brother said he really enjoyed it, but wished Rollins didn’t get all political toward the end of the show. I can agree with that, but I don’t know where the boundry was… everything can be regarded as “political” these days.

Anyway, I had a good time. I thought it was worth the price of admission and I’d recommend it to others that are willing to listen, think and laugh at a guy on a stage with a microphone and a bottle of water for 3 hours.

Here are some links I dug up:
