Visual Stimuli

Sometimes I wish I had a small TV/DVD player in the office for when I’m working on the computer. I know I get distracted enough as it is with the Internet right there at my fingertips, but some background visual stimuli would be nice. Three DVD’s I’ve recently aquired give plenty of food for visual thought.

Spirited Away
Spirited Away — a Japanese Alice in Wonderland. Simply amazing.

Naqoyqatsi — the final piece of a trilogy that caught my attention when a friend mentioned it. I now have all three of these awesome DVD’s.

Michel Gondry - Director Label
The Work of Director Michel Gondry — I saw an internet postage size clip of his video for the Chemical Brothers’ Star Guitar and decided the guy was a genius. After seeing the rest of his work I now know he is.

As for my own visual creations such as this site? I don’t think I have it in me. I like watching and trying to recognize good design/art/whatever, but I never feel very good about what I create. It is fun to create regardless and fun to be awed by those that produce something really special.

Cool! I didn't know Naqoyqatsi was out yet. I'll have to pick it up.
